Principal's Message

From the office of Mr. Chad R. Vinansky

Dear Students, Parents, and Community Members,

I am privileged to be the principal of the Mid Valley Secondary Center and I appreciate our teachers, staff, coaches, advisors and all who serve our district. I am extremely proud of the students who make Mid Valley a great place to attend school.

At Mid Valley, we aspire for excellence for the students of Olyphant, Dickson City and Throop. We recognize that our students are representatives of each of these towns and it is our duty to prepare our children as they move on in life after high school.

The Mid Valley School district has been part of our community since 1969, more than forty five years, with the same Mission Statement; to teach, challenge and encourage all students to become responsible citizens and continue a life of learning.

I ask that you take a moment to review our website and become familiar with the opportunities and resources offered that support us in meeting our Mission Statement.

I encourage students to get involved on campus. Utilize your abilities and interests by…

  • Gaining as much knowledge as you can in each of your classes. Knowledge is Power!
  • Becoming involved in Mid Valley by taking part in an activity, club, or sport. Spartan Pride!
  • Being demanding of yourself to do your best! Don’t settle for anything less. Be Great!

The Mid Valley Secondary Center offers something for everyone. In addition, our staff is here to support and inspire you to achieve your goals.

Parents, you are our partners in educating our students, please take the time to join us at the many school events.  Additionally, I also ask that you participate in our informative parent nights put on by our guidance department. These events provide material for students in preparation for life after high school.  The dates of these informational events will be posted on our school website, Facebook page, and on our Twitter account (@MidValleySD).

I also encourage you to enroll on our Community Portal (see web site) which will allow you to monitor your child’s grades, homework and attendance.  This system is an additional way to stay in touch with your students’ teachers, counselor, and administrative team. If you need assistance setting up your account please contact the school.

As always, I look forward to another exciting and prosperous year.
